2011 was a great year for Gallery Black Lagoon! In addition to showing work by over 75 Local Austin Artists, we also received some great press & were selected for the 2011 Austin Award for “Best Art Gallery” by the US Commerce Association (USCA)!
“The USCA “Best of Local Business” Award Program recognizes outstanding local businesses throughout the country. Each year, the USCA identifies companies that we believe have achieved exceptional marketing success in their local community and business category. These are local companies that enhance the positive image of small business through service to their customers and community.”
We hope for a successful coming year, and to see all of our supporters & friends, as well as new faces in 2012! Next Event:

heck out the review from The Austin Chronicle this week, with some nice words for 3 of the artists in our West of East Group Show: http://www.austinchronicle.com/arts/2011-11-18/west-of-east/
“This group show boasts striking art worth leaving the Eastside for Hyde Park…Schwake works the figurative surrealism mode in oils, his sometimes cartoonish subjects reined in by solid technique to produce shadowed beauties of symbolism. Imagine: The New Yorker‘s Owen Smith repainting the creepier parts of Michael Sieben’s oeuvre? …” – Wayne Alan Brenner, The Austin Chronicle
